M. Nurul Islam, the Founder and General Secretary of Al-Ameen Mission, has been doing pioneering work in the field of education in India.
Born in a remote village of West Bengal, Mr. Islam, from a very young age, realized the miserable condition of the minority community and rightly believed that education is the only means to overcome backwardness and hardship. Thus, in 1986, he established Al-Ameen Mission with only seven students—a humble beginning that has now grown into a movement.
Today, the Mission nurtures more than 74,000 students, of which 49,000 are alumni and over 23,500 are current residential students across 74 branches. This remarkable journey has truly ushered in a renaissance-like transformation within the backward minority society.
The Mission has expanded its campuses to nearly every district of West Bengal and has also established branches in neighbouring states like Tripura and Madhya Pradesh. Under Mr. Islam’s visionary leadership, the Mission has so far produced nearly 7,000 doctors and more than 5,000 engineers, along with countless other professionals excelling in diverse fields.
What makes this achievement extraordinary is that most of these students come from underprivileged backgrounds. Through his tireless dedication and visionary guidance, Mr. Islam has not only uplifted individuals but also transformed communities. It is under his dexterous leadership that Al-Ameen Mission has earned numerous laurels and widespread recognition.
